For chlorine and organics removal

Public water supplies contain a significant amount of trace chlorine. For many companies, such as breweries and soft drink manufacturers, this residual chlorine in water used for product formulation can affect the quality of the final product. Also, many high purity water systems that utilize reverse osmosis membranes can be irreversible damaged by feed water containing chlorine.

Organics and chlorine are removed by granular activated carbon (GAC). GAC is a non toxic universal adsorbent that also has some catalytic properties that make it perfect for removing chlorine, taste, and odor compounds.

Puretec provides virgin coconut shell (vegetable based) carbon with excellent dechlorination characteristics each and every delivery – not re-fired coal based carbon like many of our competitors.

Each and every delivery of virgin carbon has a large surface area, high mechanical hardness, high pore volume and chemical stability. Our GAC is NSF certified and meets all food chemical codex, AWWA and ASTM protocals.
